Close up of sunflower

Created for my friends in Ukraine.  The sunflower is their national flower and in this image  the dominant colors are blue and yellow like their flag

Big Gold Sphere on Water

"Still, We Hold"
My sky holds its breath

As a veil of thunder inches its way

Toward my amber sea.

My tired tide rests low

While daybreak melts across my face,

Driftwood bleached and torn from passage —

Merely forming the gold

My jaded hands hold.

Title: Ambassadors from Another Time

Located in the beautiful Santa Barbara Botanic Garden,  Coast redwoods can live for more than 2,000 years. In fact, some trees living today were alive during the time of the Roman Empire!

“From them comes silence and awe. It's not only their unbelievable stature, nor the color which seems to shift and vary under your eyes, no, they are not like any trees we know, they are ambassadors from another time.” - John Steinbeck

Embraced

Each viewer must decide what this image portrays.  However, this is my personal interpretation.  A taller figure on the right side with backlighting behind the head holds a smaller figure on the left with a tender connection flowing between them. The little one emanates a trusting, protective glow while looking toward the larger one while wrapped completely by the embrace.
