This image examines verticality as both a physical and symbolic force. Rising from the cityscape, the structure becomes a quiet counterpoint to the surrounding movement steady, luminous, and self-contained. The night setting and monochrome palette emphasize contrast between mass and void, grounding and ascent.
Rather than documenting a landmark, the work reflects on how architecture shapes human orientation how we look upward to measure scale, ambition, and stillness within the city’s constant motion.

This work explores the moment where architecture, motion, and light intersect. The building’s sculptural form acts as both anchor and conduit, holding the city’s energy while allowing it to pass through. By stripping the image of color, the focus shifts to structure, rhythm, and contrast.
The long exposure transforms movement into light, revealing the unseen pulse of the city. What remains is not a record of place, but an experience of presence where permanence and transience coexist.

Twilight in Edinburgh
A view of Edinburgh Castle glowing in the warm light of twilight, seen from the historic Vennel staircase. This quiet moment captures the charm of Old Town’s stone architecture, leading the eye up to Scotland’s iconic fortress atop Castle Rock.
